Why traders run MT4/MT5 on a VPS
On a laptop, an EA stops when the lid closes, the router restarts or the power goes. On a VPS the terminal runs in a datacentre and keeps trading when you disconnect from RDP or switch your PC off.
Latency: measure to your broker, not to you
What matters is the round trip from the VPS to your broker's trade server. From our Noida datacentre, brokers hosted in Mumbai are ~25 ms away, Singapore (Equinix SG1) ~55 ms, London (LD4) ~125 ms and New York (NY4) ~215 ms.
Check where your broker's server actually is (the MT4/MT5 server name or the broker's support usually says), then compare. For most retail EAs a few tens of milliseconds make no practical difference; for scalpers they can.
How much RAM and CPU you need
Each MT4/MT5 terminal needs roughly 300–500 MB plus whatever your indicators use. Strategy Tester optimisation uses much more, so leave headroom if you backtest on the server.

Windows licence, DDoS and snapshots
MT4 and MT5 are Windows programs. Our Forex VPS plans include a licensed Windows Server 2022 image with the MT4/MT5 prerequisites, so there is no separate licence fee.

Setting up MT4/MT5 on the VPS
- Deploy a Forex VPS
Choose a size, start hourly if you are testing, and note the IP address and Administrator password in the panel.
- Connect over RDP
Use Remote Desktop on Windows, or any RDP app on macOS, Android or iOS, with the IP address and password.
- Install the terminal
Download MT4 or MT5 from your broker inside the VPS, log in to your trading account and copy your EAs and indicators across.
- Enable automated trading
Attach the EA to its charts, turn on algo trading, then disconnect RDP without logging off so the terminal keeps running.
Billing for traders
Forex plans start at ₹1,365 a month before GST. Test a broker on hourly billing (48 hours minimum), then move the same VM to a 12-month term at 44% below the hourly list. Pay by UPI, card or net-banking with a GST invoice, or in USD if you trade offshore.
