# Restore a deleted cloud server

Source: https://bookmyhost.com/guides/restore-deleted-server (updated 2026-10-23)

When a cloud server is deleted, by you, at the end of a paid term or for non-payment, its disk is kept in the Server Vault for up to 90 days. You can bring it back as a new server or download its disk from Recently deleted in the panel.

## How long a deleted server is kept

Deleted servers are kept only on accounts that have made at least one payment; a server on an account that has only used promo or welcome credit is deleted at once and cannot be restored. Up to 90 days. With Vault Protect (₹49 per server per month, included in Server Backup) the full 90 days are assured. Without it, the oldest copies may be removed earlier when vault space runs low; we email you 48 hours before that.

We email you on day 1, 15 and 45 after deletion and a final notice the day before the copy is deleted for good.

## Restoring

Open Recently deleted, pick Restore and choose a plan with at least the old disk size. The server comes back as a new server, usually within 5 to 20 minutes, with a new IP; the old IP can be requested back if it is still free.

With Vault Protect on for at least 30 days, restoring is free. Otherwise it costs ₹980, held on your wallet and charged only once the restored server is running: a failed restore costs nothing.

## Downloading the disk

Download gives a link valid for 24 hours to each disk image (main disk and any data disks). One download is free with Vault Protect; otherwise it costs the same as a restore.

## Privacy

Each copy is encrypted with its own key. Staff can restore, hold or delete a copy but cannot read it. To have a copy erased sooner, open a support ticket; it is done within 7 days.
